Duties
The United States Attorney's Office, Northern District of Ohio, is interviewing for an Assistant United States Attorney (AUSA) with civil litigation experience. The position will be located in the Civil Division, Affirmative Civil Enforcement Unit (ACE), of the Cleveland office. The ACE Unit is primarily responsible for the recovery of government funds obtained by fraud. ACE attorneys investigate and litigate actions referred to the office by various government agencies and through qui tam actions filed by whistleblowers under the False Claims Act (FCA). The Unit handles a wide variety of cases, including the enforcement of the FCA, Controlled Substance Act, civil rights laws, and environmental laws. The Unit often works in conjunction with attorneys from the Civil Division, Civil Fraud Section and Civil Rights Division of Main Justice. In addition to traditional litigation, ACE cases require significant investigation, including a high level of coordination with federal and state agencies, data analysis, and documentary review. The qualified applicant would be expected to litigate cases of moderate to high complexity from start to finish with limited supervision. Applicants with prior experience handling investigations or FCA matters should describe that work in their cover letters.

How You Will Be Evaluated
You will be evaluated for this job based on how well you meet the qualifications above.
