About the Position:
This is a full-time civilian faculty position within the Center for Strategic Leadership. While the initial term is up to four years with the first year being a trial period, it is the intent for this to be a long-term faculty position. Reappointments may occur in up to five-year increments, subject to job performance and availability of funding. Academic rank and salary will be based on the selectee's academic credentials, experience, and professional accomplishments.

SELECTIVE PLACEMENT FACTORS/KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Applicants will be rated based on the criteria listed below by a panel of subject matter experts appointed with the purpose of identifying the best-qualified candidates.
1. Graduate degree in a discipline relating to environmental security. A PhD or equivalent is strongly preferred.
2. Record of publication on key environmental security issues, with an emphasis on the implications of environmental security issues on national security and conflict.
3. Experience in developing and educating students at the graduate level.
4. Demonstrated skill at presenting research and analysis to senior leaders and officials, including demonstrating the potential to engage senior leaders in specific research-based discussion and provide sound recommendations concerning environmental security and the implications to national security strategy.
5. Active involvement in professional networks relevant to environmental security.
