The Office of Administrative Law Judges (OALJ) is an independent office in EPA's Office of Mission Support. This position is designated as Low Risk and requires a background investigation. In addition, the following specialized training or experience is desired: Environmental law or public service as shown through academic courses, internships or other experience.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

This is a Law Clerk position. You are eligible for a law clerk position if you meet all the requirements for an attorney position except bar membership. Appointments are made for periods not-to-exceed (NTE) 14 months pending admission to a State bar.
This position is excluded from provisions of the Interagency Career Transition Assistance Program (ICTAP).
Selection under this appointment authority does not confer civil service competitive status.
