The U.S. Military Academy, West Point, NY is an academic institution located in the Hudson River Valley, 50 miles from New York City. The historic site is the oldest continuously occupied military post in America. This is full-time term appointment in the excepted service not to exceed 2 years. Term appointments may be extended beyond the initial term. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must (a) hold a bachelor's degree or higher that included or was supplemented by major study in education or in a subject-matter field appropriate to the position, OR (b) possess a combination of education and experience -- courses equivalent to a major in education, or in a subject-matter field appropriate to the position, plus appropriate experience or additional course work that provided knowledge comparable to that normally acquired through the successful completion of the 4-year course of study described above.
SELECTIVE PLACEMENT FACTOR/KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Applicants will be evaluated on the following: 1) Education and Academic Accomplishment (Ph.D. in education, human development, and/or a related experience is preferred). 2) Demonstrated ability to teach and assess educational programs at the college level (three or more years of teaching experience strongly preferred); 3) Ability to design and implement curriculum and administrate in an academic environment (three or more years of experience strongly preferred); 4) Ability to work cooperatively and interact effectively in a cadet-centered curriculum dedicated to the development of future army officers. 5) Experience as a member of a profession who effectively communicates and collaborates with leaders who are responsible for stewardship of a profession.
