You will serve as a Library Technician responsible for providing technical services support functions required to support the education and training outcomes of the Academy.
Being a CG civilian makes you a valuable member of the CG team. Typical work assignments include:
- Performing all copy cataloging using OCLC Connexion. Maintaining catalog database, including processes associated with acquisition and weeding of materials.
- Providing archival processing assistance: inventorying incoming collections in a variety of formats, data entry, rehousing archival materials, digitizing archival assets, physically shifting collections, exhibits research, and other special projects as needed. Supports digital initiatives including digitizing materials; creating metadata for digital assets; and adding, deleting, and maintaining records in repositories.
- Supporting acquisition processes including creating PRs, receiving materials, and creating book orders.
- Collecting pertinent statistics for reports; creating brochures, bookmarks, signs, etc; working on displays; shelf reading; shifting collections; inventory; serials binding; overseeing student clerks or volunteers
- Staffing circulation desk; answering directional questions; giving library tours
