-Participate in projects involving analysis of public affairs issues and recommends internal and external outreach strategies to promote NNSA/NPO programs and provide information about NNSA/NPO to the general public and media.
-Analyze past, current, and proposed operating programs to identify current and potential public perception problem areas and initiates and develops approaches to address them.
- Participate in efforts to establish and develop effective relationships with media representatives and public affairs personnel of specialized groups, as well as strengthening and building on relationships already established.
- Partnership with the Director of Public Affairs, Chief of Staff and Senior Strategic Advisor prepares the NNSA/NPO Manager and staff for public meetings and media interviews by developing talking points, background information, and other pertinent materials
-Presidential Directive (HSPD-12) governing personal identity which will require that you provide two forms of identification.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower NNSA Demonstration Project pay band or GS grade in the Federal Service, i.e., NQ-01 or GS-07.
Specialized experience for this position is defined as: Applying government relations and strategic communication skills to assist managers and employees with internal and external outreach activities, performing work researching, writing, and/or designing informational materials for a target audience, building and sustaining positive working relationships with given networks.
Examples include the following:
1. Making formal presentations through broadcast media to various audiences
2. Organizing and executing major public media events;
3. Experience in managing various types of public involvement programs; or
4. Establishing and maintaining effective relationships with reporters, editors and news directors

Equivalent combinations of graduate education and specialized experience are also creditable for NQ-02.
