About the Position: This position is with the New York District,Construction Division, East River Bridges (ERB) Office. Serve as the Area Engineer with direct responsibility for construction management and contract administration associated with the District mission, within the assigned geographical area. Through subordinate supervisors, plans work to be accomplished, sets priorities and prepares schedules for completion of work.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service which includes work that involves: (1) Exercising professional knowledge and judgment in coordination of diverse technical disciplines necessary to assess benefits, impacts, and risks of complex construction projects, including resolution of field engineering problems; (2) Reviewing technical adequacy of engineering documents for compliance with applicable laws, regulations, standards, and specifications; (3) Fiscal management associated with the operation of a Division, Branch, Area or Resident Office program; and (4) Approving cost estimates for contract modifications, negotiating Construction contract modification terms and prices. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).
Selective Placement Factor: This position requires an active Professional Engineer (PE) or an active Registered Architect (RA) license. You must submit a copy of either license with your application package; failure to do so will result in your application package being rated as incomplete.
