Duties
- Develops, provides policy, and formulates the Division?s posture on Regulatory Programs.
- Ensures adherence to all appropriated laws and regulations for the protection and preservation of the waters of the United States.
- Initiates new and amended legislation, regulations, and policies for the composition, safety, and efficacy of regulated products.
- Responsible for coordinating and/or negotiating resolution of program activities, controversial issues, and problems within the Division with districts and other Federal, tribal, state or local agencies.
- Coordinates agreements with and obtains opinions of various state and Federal agencies.
- Provides oversight, staff supervision and guidance to subordinate districts in managing all Regulatory actions.
- Interprets, define, and clarify Regulatory Program policies, regulations, guidance, and instructions from higher authority.
- Manages the Division's Regulatory Program budget.
- Performs periodic staff inspection of district offices to review progress in accomplishing Regulatory program goals and objectives.
- Represents the Division Commander and attends high-level meetings, seminars, and conferences with key management officials and participates on national task forces and panels to develop national policy and procedures.
