As a Fish and Wildlife Biologist, you will be responsible for coordinating program management for the Central Valley Project Improvement Act Implementation Program (CVPIA), the San Joaquin River Restoration Program (SJRRP) or the Regional Aquatic Invasive Species Program (AIS).The emphasis will be on the management, conservation and restoration of terrestrial and aquatic organisms and ecosystems. The primary duties of the position are to coordinate program management and general staff involvement from multiple Service offices, coordinate science-based prioritization and evaluation of Program activities, work with various partners from other Federal, State, local and non-profit entities with vested and diverse interests in the successful implementation of the Program, serve as the Service's lead science and/or management representative within CVPIA, SJRRP or AIS and assist Regional FAC Senior Leadership in successfully managing staff and Program resources within the Service's CVPIA, SJRRP and AIS organizational structures. Additionally, these positions provide policy guidance, technical advice and ensure coordination of fisheries and water management operations with associated programs and activities throughout California's Central Valley (CVPIA and SJRRP), or the majority of California, Nevada and the Klamath River Watershed (AIS). These positions provides key managerial, scientific, and technical support to the FAC Central Valley Supervisor, FAC Fish Program Supervisor and FAC Assistant Regional Director on policy and procedural matters associated with the fisheries, habitat conservation, and ecological services programs in the Region. In coordination with FAC Senior Leadership, the positions develop and implement Regional FAC policies, operating plans, evaluation methods, and administrative procedures within the CVPIA, SJRRP or AIS Program and ensures Program activities are consistent with other Service activities within the Region.
Major Duties include:

GRADUATE EDUCATION: One academic year of graduate education is considered to be the number of credits hours your graduate school has determined to represent one academic year of full-time study. Such study may have been performed on a full-time or part-time basis. If you cannot obtain your graduate school's definition of one year of graduate study, 18 semester hours (or 27 quarter hours) should be considered as satisfying the requirement for one year of full-time graduate study.
