This position is located in the Coos Bay District, Bureau of Land Management in North Bend, Oregon.
The incumbent will carry out a variety of field work to help ensure the survey, monitoring and data management requirements are completed and are in compliance with the Resource Management Plan. This position will work corporately by being shared by multiple discipline (fisheries and hydrology) and across field offices. In addition, the incumbent will conducts stream surveys, stream location verification from LiDAR modeling, GIS input, ground support for in-stream restoration and fish culvert replacement implementation.
Physical Demands: Work requires some physical exertion such as bending and walking in terrain that is rough, rocky, mountainous and densely vegetated. Required to fill and carry equipment necessary to efficiently perform the work of the position, and to provide for personal comfort and safety. This can include tools, personal protective equipment, food and water for extended period of work away from vehicles.
Work Environment: Office work is performed in a setting that is adequately lighted, ventilated, cooled and heated. When doing fieldwork is subject to cuts and bruises, extreme and adverse weather conditions, and injuries and discomforts from pests or animals. Employee will adhere to all safety rules.

Specialized Experience Requirements:
In order to be rated as qualified for this position, we must be able to determine that you meet the specialized experience requirement - please be sure to include this information in your resume. To be creditable, this experience must have been equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade of the position to be filled.
GS-7: One year of specialized work experience equivalent to GS-6 level. Examples of specialized experience may include planning and conducting aquatic inventories, analyzing inventory and preparing data; conducting fish populations studies planning and conducting water quality sampling of streams and lakes; making recommendations for enhancements projects and entering and retrieving data from automated databases OR Successful completion of one full year of graduate education directly related to the work of the position; OR A combination of experience and education to meet total experience.
