--Develops outreach strategies to address and communicate the need to maintain and improve fisheries conservation and recreational fishing policies and practices.
--Develops, writes, updates, and edits products for print, online, and digital platforms, including: reports, newsletters, brochures, video clips, as well as contributes to design and content development for web sites.
--Coordinates special events, including briefings, ceremonies, receptions, photo opportunities, and public meetings. Responsibilities include overseeing physical and logistical arrangements, preparing materials, and conducting outreach efforts.
--Manages or implements the design and creation of display graphics to reinforce fisheries conservation and recreational fishing messages to FWS and partners.
--Establishes and builds partnerships with the fisheries conservation community to: inform them of, and gain their support for agency fisheries conservation concerns as outlined in the FAC Strategic Plan.

--Knowledge and skills pertaining to communications planning, implementation, and evaluation, to conceptualize and develop media outreach plans and communication strategies to reach broadcast, print, and Intranet about fisheries programs.
--Thorough knowledge of and ability to use English grammar, style and journalistic technique for writing, editing, and tailoring written copy needed to prepare media-ready materials for print, online, and broadcast.
--Thorough knowledge of and ability to use graphic design and document development software.
--Ability to build partnerships/relationships with the fisheries conservation community, Fish and Aquatic Conservation Program partners, and other key audiences to increase support for fish and aquatic conservation and management.
--Ability to communicate orally, expressing scientific tasks and information for all levels of audiences and interest groups.
