Students who are enrolled or accepted for enrollment in an accredited educational institution in good academic standing. Good academic standing is determined by the educational institution, but is typically a Grade Point Average of a 2.0 on a 4.0 scale. To qualify for the GS-05 Student Trainee (Electronics Engineering) position you must possess the following:
Education:
Completion of 4 academic years of post-high school leading to a bachelor's degree or equivalent degree in engineering or a related field.
OR
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: One year of specialized experience at the next lower grade level (GS-04 or equivalent pay band) in the Federal service. For this position, specialized experience is defined as:

To qualify for the GS-07 Student Trainee (Electronics Engineering) position you must possess the following:
Education:
1. One full year of graduate-level education related to engineering
OR
2. Superior Academic Achievement as demonstrated by a bachelor's degree in a curriculum related to engineering from an accredited college or university with one of the following. NOTE It is your responsibility to ensure your application clearly states how you meet one of the provisions below:

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: One full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 in the Federal service. Specialized experience MUST include all of the following:

Definition of Student: Student is defined as an individual currently enrolled or accepted for enrollment and seeking a degree (diploma, or certificate) in a qualifying academic institution, on a half or full-time basis. Half-time is defined by the educational institution in which the student is enrolled. Students do not have to be in actual physical attendance in school, online curriculums are acceptable as long as the school is accredited by the Department of Education.
