NASA's Pathways Recent Graduate Program provides an opportunity for you to gain experience in the Federal civil service at the beginning of your career. This position is for an Aerospace Engineer in the Safety Office in the Suborbital and Special Orbital Project at GSFC Wallops Flight Facility (Wallops Island, VA). As an entry level engineer, the employee will perform assignments designed to increase knowledge and skill in safety assignments.

Individuals who have graduated from an accredited educational insitution within the last two years. Veterans who were unable to apply for Pathways Recent Graduate jobs due to active military service are eligible for two years after release or discharge from active duty, up to six years after completing degree requirements.
To qualify for the GS-9 level, you must have a master's degree.

A bachelor's degree with at least 1 year of specialized experience.
Basic Education Requirement: A master's degree from an accredited college or university with major study in engineering, physical science, mathematics, life sciences, computer science, or other field of science.
Degrees in engineering technology are not considered to be qualifying for this position.
You must indicate your major as well as your degree in order to receive full consideration for this position.
If you are using education completed outside of the U.S. to meet the qualifications for this position, you must have it evaluated by a credential evaluation service to determine if it is comparable to education from accredited U.S. institutions. You will be placed in a dynamic, one-year career development program, and provided with a mentor and an individual training plan that may include specialized training, formal rotational assignments, and other developmental activities. If you successfully complete the program, you may be converted to a term or permanent position. Eligibility for conversion does not guarantee that NASA will offer conversion. At NASA, term appointments last from one to six years. If a Recent Graduate appointee is converted to a term appointment, they may later be converted to a permanent appointment without competing.
The Recent Graduate may be converted to an Aerospace Engineer with promotion potential to the GS-13 level.
