This position is located within the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Office of the Chief Financial Officer (OCFO). The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a junior-level analyst to management on major budget functions involving the formulation, justification and execution phases of the budget within the Office of the Chief Financial Officer (OCFO), Office of Budget and Program Performance (OBPP). Typical work assignments will include:
You qualify for the GS-11 grade level if you possess one of the following:
Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service, performing duties such as: (1) Coordinating with senior level analysts conducting duties relative to budget obligations and expenditure monitoring; (2) Providing support and assistance in the review and coordination of accounting document, apportionments, allocations and operating budgets; (3) Using standard data collection tools and statistical methods to analyze data, obtain, compile and summarize factual narrative information and quantitative data for use by department staff; and (4) Analyzing accounting data, reconciling transactions, preparing and inputting corrections to the accounting system.
Substitution of Education for Experience: You may substitute a LL.M. or Ph.D. degree or three full years of education leading to such a degree from an accredited college or university in a field that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of this position.
Combining Education and Experience: Appropriate combinations of successfully completed graduate education and experience also may be used to meet the total qualification requirements for the GS-11 grade level.
