As a Writer-Editor (Speech Writer), you will write, and edit a variety of materials, including speeches, editorials, testimony, and other products to promote and explain the Director's vision and priorities for the Agency as well as describe key AHRQ activities.
Specifically, you will:
- Prepare materials, such as blogs, reports, articles, and letters to the editor.
- Participate in all aspects of development, including defining the intended audience, reviewing and advising on content, advising on the most effective method of presenting technical data and on the style and presentation most appropriate for accomplishing the publication's objective.
- Present factual information that is clear and meaningful to the intended audience.
- Coordinate the addition of any illustrations, infographics, and tabular material to augment the written message.
- Participate in conceptualizing and developing materials for the Division of Media Relations.

Qualifications
To qualify for this GS-13 Writer-Editor (Speech Writer), your resume must clearly demonstrate that you have one full year of specialized experience comparable in difficulty and responsibility to at least the GS-12 level in the federal service. Examples of qualifying experience include the following types of tasks performed on a regular and recurring basis: Draft speeches, talking points, Power Point presentations and other materials that clearly communicate the vision and goals of organizational leadership; research and draft blog posts that are responsive to leadership feedback and clearly reflect organizational activities and goals; contribute to the development and review of infographics, charts and other visual elements that support organizational messaging.
