As a VICTIM ADVOCATE COORDINATOR - TITLE 5, GS-0301-9, you will serve with the JFHQ Sexual Assault Response Coordinator (SARC) as the designated specialist of victim support services. Coordinate and oversee implementation of the Sexual Assault Prevention and Response (SAPR) and Sexual Harassment Assault Response & Prevention (SHARP) Programs. Manage sexual assault awareness, prevention, training, and victim advocacy (VA). Provide victim advocate support by providing advice, guidance or victim services question clarification. Provide advocacy services to individuals with issues related to being a victim/survivor of sexual assault. Assist victims in developing safety plans, conduct a risk assessment, and provide emotional support, crisis intervention, prevention awareness and education to victims. Work with the JFHQ SARC to support state National Guard (NG) units in the completion of required training and conduct training as needed. Ensure victims of sexual assault receive all needed guidance and emotional support during administrative, medical, investigative, and legal procedures. Accompany victims and provide support in securing medical treatment for injuries; safe shelter; protective orders; court hearings; support before, during and after trials; appointments; educational services; transportation; financial services, and follow-up assistance. Serve on the Sexual Assault Review Board (SARB) or Case Management Board. Serve as the point of contact in coordinating victim care from initial report to resolution of victim's health and well-being. Work with the state leadership, unit commanders, and first response groups to improve systemic barriers to victims' services and offender accountability. Perform other duties as assigned.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Must obtain and maintain a favorable adjudication of a T3 or equivalent investigation.

Must obtain and maintain current required certifications in self-aid buddy care and first aid.
Must possess a valid driver's license and have the ability to operate a motor vehicle.
Must be able to occasionally work other than normal duty hours.
Must be able to receive and maintain Defense Sexual Assault Advocate Certification Program (D-SAACP) accreditation.
In accordance with the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968 -AND- DoDI 6495.03, Defense Sexual Assault Advocate Certification Program (D-SAACP), September 2015, an individual convicted of a qualifying crime of sexual assault, domestic violence, child abuse, or violent crime and/or is registered as a sex offender may not perform the duties of this position.
