This position is located in the Office of Public Affairs at the National Museum of African American History and Culture (NMAAHC). The Web Content Manager will educate the public about African American history and culture through web-based initiatives, engagement, development and maintenance of NMAAHC's website. Responsibilities include:

Experience: You qualify for this position if you possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 level in the Federal Service or comparable pay band system. For this position specialized experience is defined as developing written & multimedia website content; providing strategic direction on wireframes & content; writing, editing and posting content and updates for a company/organization website; processing internal requests for web page development and content updates; continually refresh the museum’s home page to ensure content is relevant and timely and to position the website as the go-to source for information about African American history and culture; planning and executing all SEO/SEM efforts for an organization, news outlet or a reputable blog; collaborating across the organization & external vendors to manage an organization’s website or a reputable blog; and evaluating end-to-end visitor experience for an organization’s website.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
