GRADUATE EDUCATION: One academic year of graduate education is considered to be the number of credits hours your graduate school has determined to represent one academic year of full-time study. Such study may have been performed on a full-time or part-time basis. If you cannot obtain your graduate school's definition of one year of graduate study, 18 semester hours (or 27 quarter hours) should be considered as satisfying the requirement for one year of full-time graduate study.

Telework: FWS has determined that the duties of this position are suitable for telework and the selectee may be allowed to telework with supervisor approval.
Relocation Expenses: Relocation expenses will be paid; relocation contract for home sale will not be paid.
Supervisory Probationary Period: If you have not previously completed a supervisory probationary period, you will be required to serve a one-year supervisory/managerial probationary period for this position.
Physical Demands: The work requires some physical exertion and may involve walking or carrying objects over wet, rough, uneven, or rocky surfaces, bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching, or similar activities.
Condition of Employment: The incumbent is required to travel by other government vehicles such as 4-wheel drive trucks, all terrain vehicles, and boats/water craft of various sizes to accomplish field work. Travel frequently occurs during short periods not usually exceeding one-week duration. Travel schedule varies and involves numerous trips per year.
The work requires average ability and dexterity and occasionally will be accomplished under adverse weather conditions on various forms of watercraft, or from the land adjacent to water bodies. Demands, such as hiking over rugged terrain, and travel by boat, commercial aircraft, and automobile, when conducting field visits, inspections and reviews are common. The Incumbent should be in good mental and physical health.
Work Environment: The work involves indoor office, laboratory work and outdoor work. The office and laboratory are adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated. Temperature and weather extremes may be encountered in the performance of outdoor work. A variety of protective gear may be worn at times by the employee. The incumbent is expected to conduct duties and scientific studies in a safe and orderly manner so as not to endanger self, fellow workers, or property with which entrusted. A significant amount of travel is required. The incumbent is required to travel by government automobile or commercial airline to attend meetings and workshops of the various agencies involved.
