This position is located in the FHWA Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) Joint Program Office (JPO). You will serve as the Chief of Program & Resource Management in the ITS JPO and assists the ITS JPO Director and Deputy Director in providing leadership and management for the Department of Transportation’s ITS program. You may be asked to act for the Deputy Director or Director in both their absence.
The Supervisory Transportation Specialist works closely with the JPO Director, Deputy Director, Chiefs of Policy and Research, JPO staff and contractors to manage the day-to-day resource allocation operations of the Office and to support the implementation of program actions in fulfillment of national ITS program objectives. Maintains such budget, financial, contract, human resource and administrative agreements, policies, practices and records as may be required to ensure integrity of operations.
The ideal candidate is experienced in analyzing and reviewing Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) policies and is adept at collaborating with public and private transportation stakeholders on the implementation, commercialization, and communication of ITS policies.
