Seasonal Park Guides work in the Division of Interpretation at President William Jefferson Clinton Birthplace Home National Historic Park and will be supervised by the Chief of Interpretation who will provide training, coaching and guidance. Seasonal park guides provide customer service at the park's visitor center and other locations in the park and during roving assignments, and provide interpretive tours and programs.
President William J. Clinton Birthplace Home National Site was authorized by Act of Congress on March 30, 2009 with an average visitation of 7,000 annual visitors today the site averages 10,000 visitors annually. The historic site it is situated in the southwest tip of Arkansas in the city of Hope (pop. 10,000). The site is surrounded by Texarkana (pop. 65, 000) and is easily accessible from Interstate 30.
The site includes the Birthplace Home, an adjacent, neighboring home which serves as the park visitor center, a Memorial Garden, and a detached restroom building. Tours of the home where Bill Clinton spent his first four years are offered every thirty minutes 9am-4pm. The visitor center is open daily from 9am-4:30pm excluding Thanksgiving, December 25, and January 1st. The park website is http://www.nps.gov/wicl
Little Rock, a major metropolitan area, is approximately 130 miles to the northeast. Dallas is approximately 2.5 hours away.

-You must be a U.S. Citizen to be eligible for the position.
-Applicants must possess a valid state driver's license. This position requires that you operate a government (or private) motor vehicle as part of your official duties.
-You will be required to sign a Pathways Agreement which specifies the conditions of your employment.
-You will also be required to maintain your student status as attending at least half-time, attending an accredited education institution, seeking a degree or certificate, and having a 2.0 GPA or higher.
-You will be required to provide student documentation every grading period to your supervisor to demonstrate your student status. Failure to provide this information may result in the termination of your internship.

-New employees of the Department of the Interior must identify a financial institution for direct deposit of net pay.
To qualify based on education, you must submit a legible copy of transcripts from an accredited institution with your name, school name, credit hours, course level, major(s), and grade-point average or class ranking. Transcripts do not need to be official, but if you are selected for this position and you used your education to qualify, you must provide official transcripts before you begin work.

Documentation may be provided in letter format from your academic advisor, school counselor, admission office, etc. to prove enrollment OR it may be provided in the form of several official documents from your school such as a copy of your official transcripts and a copy of your class schedule for next semester. If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet qualification requirements, you must show that your education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
This position is being filled under the Pathways Internship Program which is designed to provide students enrolled in a wide variety of educational institutions, from high school to graduate level, with paid work opportunities in agencies to explore Federal careers while still in school. The Internship provides the student with work experience directly related to their academic studies or career goals while offering eligibility for non-competitive conversion to permanent employment upon completion.
CONVERSION: This appointment is anticipated to continue until the student's education program requirements have been completed, at which time the individual may, at the agency's discretion, be converted to a term appointment. There is no guarantee for conversion.
