This position is located in the Eurasia Division at the Voice of America in Washington, DC. The incumbent serves as an International Broadcaster, Video Journalist with responsibility for conceiving, planning, researching, writing, shooting and editing original video packages for multimedia platforms. Work requires professional fluency in the Russian and English languages.

INTRODUCTION TO AGENCY: The Broadcasting Board of Governors (BBG), an independent federal agency, is an exciting, multi-cultural organization that encompasses all United States civilian international broadcasting. The BBG is comprise of five networks broadcasting in 61 languages that include the Voice of America, the Office of Cuba Broadcasting (Radio and TV Marti), and three grantee organizations - Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty; the Middle East Broadcasting Networks (Alhurra TV and Radio Sawa), and Radio Free Asia. The International Broadcasting Bureau provides transmission, administrative, and other support services; and three grantee organizations. Duties include but are not limited to the following:
~Serves simultaneously as solo producer, reporter, videographer and video editor for television and digital news and feature stories for a competitive, quality level international media market. Handles audio and lighting elements on assignment.
~Uses a variety of sources, including area experts, social media, daily newspapers or magazines. Prepares integrated, highly-targeted, well-balanced scripts for television packages that captures the attention of the audience. Content is typically complex and sensitive and involve controversial subjects.
~Edits video using Adobe Premier and Photoshop.
~In collaboration with the Division's Bridge Editor, is responsible for making certain that video packages are available in English in a timely manner.
~Working with the Bridge Editor and Service managers, is responsible for making certain the English language video packages are accurate, unbiased and well written.
~Initiates coverage of news and features in consultation with the Russian Service Executive Producers and Editors. Participates fully in coverage of major events and in the preparation and execution of broadcast remotes.
