ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: The National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) is the nation's primary source of geospatial intelligence, or GEOINT, for the Department of Defense (DOD) and the U.S. Intelligence Community (IC). As a DOD combat support agency and a member of the IC, NGA provides GEOINT in support of U.S. national security and defense as well as disaster relief. GEOINT is the exploitation and analysis of imagery and geospatial information that describes, assesses and visually depicts physical features and geographically referenced activities on the Earth.
The mission of NGA's Office of NGA Defense (OND) is to communicate DoD-related policy and programming issues impacting NGA or the broader GEOINT community; to shape, synchronize, and assess GEOINT integration into DoD plans, policies, and future systems to improve warfighter capabilities; and provide constant GEOINT analytical support to the Joint Chiefs of Staff and Pentagon leadership. The position of Communications and Engagement Specialist is in OND's Strategic Outreach Division which leads, manages and develops strategic communications and engagements between senior NGA leaders and Pentagon stakeholders; and which communicates NGA's mission, vision, products, services, efforts and initiatives to partners, customers and stakeholders in the Pentagon.
The applicant will serve as a OND communications and engagement specialist in the Pentagon. Duties include the planning and execution of events and VIP visits involving OND and senior NGA leadership; researching and making recommendations on options and alternatives to align events with NGA strategy and priorities; identification of potential scheduling or other conflicts and development of recommendations to resolve them; identification of event requirements and coordination across the Pentagon, NGA and other relevant agencies for logistics, speechwriting, script preparation, leadership read-aheads, marketing and other materials as appropriate to the event; representation of OND at meetings and events to cover event logistics as necessary and capture notes and actions; compilation and analysis of feedback and lessons learned for all significant events and the development of SOPs for handling recurring events; documentation of all events in OND's online tracking system and shared folders; development and implementation of coordinated communications programs, plans and themes; and provision of targeted communications products to applicable Pentagon and NGA stakeholders.
Specific responsibilities include 1) The planning and orchestration of VIP visits of NGA seniors to the Pentagon and Pentagon officials to NGA facilities to include scheduling and all logistical arrangements. 2) The provision of tailored communications products to support NGA senior leadership engagement with Pentagon stakeholders such as VIP visits, Open House events, deep dives and desk-side briefings. This includes include agendas, talking points, read-aheads, briefings, reports, flyers and other written materials. 3) The development, maintenance and implementation of OND's engagement strategy and implementation plan which outlines a strategic roadmap and articulates OND's engagement and communication goals and objectives in the Pentagon, translates them into an executable engagement plan that capitalizes on tactical opportunities while maintaining the NGA strategic message. 4) The maintenance of the layout and content of the internal- and external-facing OND SharePoint and web sites. 5) The compilation of the daily Today in the Pentagon report. 6) The representation of the mission, goals and interests of NGA in formal and informal meetings within the GEOINT community and Pentagon offices, maintaining awareness of NGA's strategic goals and DoD priorities in order to identify both synergies and gaps.
NGA's OND is seeking an individual that is a self-motivated self-starter who is able to work independently as well as in a team environment. This individual must also have strong oral and written communication skills, and the ability to work on multiple tasks with short deadlines while prioritizing as necessary to meet critical needs. This position is non-supervisory and is located in the Pentagon with occasional travel to Springfield, VA.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
You must be able to obtain and retain a Top Secret security clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information. In addition, you are subject to a Counterintelligence Polygraph examination in order to maintain access to Top Secret information. A performance pay process is conducted each year to determine a potential base pay salary increase and/or bonus.
