Fort Drum, the home of the 10th Mountain Division (Light Infantry), is

This position is located in US Army Medical Department Activity (MEDDAC), Fort Drum, NY.
In this position you will serve as a System Administrator for USA MEDADAC , 3/85th Warrior Transition Battalion (WTB), Veterinary Clinic, Dental Activity (DENTAC) and Watervliet Arsenal (WVA). You will be directly responsible for the system integration, server administration, availability, integrity and recoverability of the USA MEDDAC servers. You will perform Windows 2003/2012 and R2 server system administration duties on a clustered VMWARE (Virtual Servers) and Blade server environment. You will monitor and perform maintenance of server client and server log files, databases and server installed software. You will manage the creation of user accounts and maintain configuration management control records. You will configure, install and maintain servers and software baselines. You will perform diagnostic testing using various techniques to isolate and solve problems. You will implement procedures to ensure that standards for data administration and information security efforts are implemented in windows systems. You will initiate and use judgment to implement Department of Defense (DoD), Department Health Agency (DHA) and Department of Army (DA) guidelines to accomplish assigned task.

Experience required: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as: Monitoring and or verifying information system backups to restore files; troubleshooting and resolving complex problems to ensure minimal disruption; evaluating hardware and software to determine which product meets organization needs; and assisting in developing system analysis to ensure network servers and data system are properly configured. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).
You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency (knowledge, skills, abilities) in the following areas:
