The Bureau of Economic Analysis is seeking a highly-motivated and capable executive to serve as the Chief, Balance of Payments Division.
The Chief of the Balance of Payments Division is responsible for preparing, developing, and analyzing the international transactions (balance of payments) and international investment position accounts of the United States, including detail by foreign geographic area; obtaining data to construct these accounts by conducting BEA surveys of U.S. businesses on their international trade in services transactions and by collecting data from other government agencies and from private sources to produce account statistics utilizing appropriate statistical techniques; conducting research to enhance estimation methodologies and research to interpret the accounts; and analyzing data on direct investment into and out of the United States, including data on the financial structure and operations of multinational enterprises.
This position is a Senior Executive Service (SES) career-reserved position. Positions in the SES are not graded. SES pay is commensurate with qualifications. SES employees are eligible for bonuses and awards based on performance. Veteran's preference is not applicable to SES.

The Chief, Balance of Payments:
To meet the minimum qualification requirements for this position, you must show that you possess all of the Executive Core Qualifications, Professional/Technical Qualifications and educational requirements listed. These qualifications would typically be acquired through education, senior level experience, and training which reflect progressive development and achievement in leading and managing a comprehensive program in a complex organization. An individual's total experience must demonstrate the ability to perform the duties of the position. Degree: economics, that included at least 21 semester hours in economics and 3 semester hours in statistics, accounting, or calculus.
