Fort Drum, the home of the 10th Mountain Division (Light Infantry), is located in Northern New York's picturesque North Country, one of the most historically unique and geographically beautiful areas of the United States, offering bountiful outdoor recreational opportunities from hunting and fishing to winter sports of all types. Fort Drum is approximately 30 miles from Canada, with the Great Lakes to the west, the Adirondack Mountains to the east, and the St. Lawrence River and Thousand Islands in between.

This position is located in the Mission and Installation Contracting Command (MICC), Fort Drum, NY.
As a Quality Assurance Specialist you will be responsible for conducting studies, coordinating and monitoring the Quality Assurance Program and surveillance systems in support of the Mission and Installation Contracting Command. You will be an advisor to the 925th Director and provide support to the Contracting Officer Representatives on matters of quality assurance and surveillance. You will be providing support to the MICC ICO in the areas of; acquisition strategy planning, documentation review, quality management support, and assist with the Contract Management Reviews (CMR). You will be required to establish and maintain professional working relationships in order to ensure monitoring and evaluation of contractor performance in adequate.

Qualifications

Experience required: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as: experience that demonstrated a practical knowledge in monitoring, controlling, or maintaining the quality of products or services in quality assurance, procurement, inspection, production, or related areas such as; reviewing and evaluating contractor work processes for compliance with contractual requirements; inspecting completed work; documenting instances of unacceptable contractor performance and failure to comply; analyzing quality data to detect trends; reviewing quality and inspection procedures for adequacy, and performing the duties of a contracting officer representative and/or contract specialist.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).
You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency (knowledge, skills, abilities) in the following areas:
