Duties

Help

Installs, replaces or repairs items involving moderate complexity within the following systems: ignitions, exhaust, brakes, air conditioning, front suspension, emission control, fuel, starting, and drive train assembly (u-joints, pinion seals.
Troubleshoots and diagnoses malfunctions/failures and performs required adjustments/repairs using a variety of test equipment, such as tech, dwell, timing light, oscilloscopes.
Troubleshoot and diagnose compression gauges, emission analyzers, engine and chassis dynamometers, charging system meters, combustion analyzer, air conditioning, and diagnostic unit. Explain repair requirements and estimates to patrons, as required.
May give safety instruction classes to patrons. Insures compliance with fire, safety, sanitation and security regulations. Maintains tools and work area in a clean and orderly manner.
Stands, stoops, bends, stretches, and works in tiring and uncomfortable positions for prolonged periods of time. Frequently lift, handle, and carry parts and equipment weighing up to 18 kilograms (40 pounds)/ or over 23 kilograms (50 pounds).
