This position is in the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), Operations Support (OS), CBP Watch, Emergency Management Division supporting and managing the Incident Management Assistant Team (IMAT). You will serve in a coordinating and response capacity in addition to acting as a strategic planner within the National Incident Management Assistance Team (N-IMAT). The primary purpose of this position is to provide expert advice and services on controversial and sensitive matters related to the component's emergency management and preparedness policies, processes, and programs that support the CBP and DHS mission set
This position starts at a salary of $142,488.00 (GS-14, Step 1) to$185,234.00 (GS-14, Step 10)

Temporary Assignment: To meet agency needs, this position will be filled on a temporary basis not-to-exceed (NTE) three years, with possible extensions for an additional five years in one year increments. You may be returned, at any time, to the position you held prior to this temporary promotion or to a different position of equivalent grade and pay, and that the return is not subject to the procedures found in 5 C.F.R. §§ 351, 432, 752, and 771.
Security Clearance: You may be required to obtain a Secret or higher-level clearance for this position.
Rotation of Assignments/Duty Locations: You may be required to rotate assignments and duty locations.
Shift Work: You will be required to perform work on a shift and rotational basis.
Data Systems: You will be required to maintain access to all data systems necessary for duty execution.
Overtime: You must be available to work overtime on a scheduled or unscheduled basis.?
Uniform: This position requires you to wear an officially-approved uniform while in a duty status.
Physical and Environmental Conditions: The work environment includes offices, aircraft operation areas, airline passenger and cargo areas, and marine docks. Periods of outdoor work may be required in snow, rain, or extreme heat. Occasional periods of outdoor work may be required in remote areas with no modern comfort facilities. The work may involve the use of toxic chemicals, pesticides and fumigants. Protective clothing may be required such as hard hats, gloves, goggles, hearing protection, and respirators.
