Job Summary
The Office of the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) provides operations support services and business solutions to the community of 10,000 House Members, Officers and staff. The CAO organization comprises more than 650 technical and administrative staff working in a variety of areas, including information technology, finance, budget management, human resources, payroll, childcare, food and vending, procurement, logistics and administrative counsel.
The U.S. House of Representatives Office of Employee Assistance (OEA) provides comprehensive employee assistance services to employees of the House, U.S. Capitol Police and Congressional Budget Office, and their immediate family members. The incumbent provides comprehensive employee assistance assessment, referral, motivational and supportive short-term counseling, and follow-up, as well as resilience groups, retreat and training programs for a wide range of mental health, behavioral, addiction, work-related and personal problems which impact or have the potential to impact an employee's job performance. Consults with and coaches supervisors, managers, and organizational leaders on the interface of behavioral and personal issues with the workplace and the development of strategies to effectively address job performance that is negatively affected by an employee’s personal problems. They will be responsible for significant day-to-day activities and projects to carry out and enhance the delivery of employee assistance services. Lead participant in the development, delivery, and evaluation of the OEA’s training and education programs employing a variety of delivery methodologies and technologies.
