This position is located in Gateway National Recreation Area, in the Facility Management Division. The incumbent will serve as the Roads and Grounds Supervisor for the Sandy Hook Unit Maintenance Opertions or the Staten Island Unit Maintenance Operation and provides direct work supervision and oversight over the maintenance of cultural landscapes, roads, beaches, trails, grounds, and facilities.

The selectee plans, assigns, and directs the work of all subordinates and assures quality of work. Incumbent has substantially full supervisory responsibility over work operations and subordinates. Incumbent also performs mixed duties of a general nature necessary for the proper operation, maintenance, and repair of cultural landscapes, roads, beaches, trails, grounds, and facility maintenance. Incumbent supports roads and grounds operations as required including snow removal, park events, and or emergencies. Incumbent may be required to do simple laboring tasks as an incidental part of his or her general duties including building maintenance, repair, and custodial work.
There is no substitution of education for experience for Wage Grade (WG) positions.

Physical Demands: The work varies from sedentary to strenuous, both indoors and outdoors.
Working Conditions: Duties require both indoor and outdoor activities in a wide range of temperatures and climatic conditions during all season of the year.You will be evaluated for this job based on how well you meet the qualifications above.
