The following are the duties of this position at the GS-07. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties, and will receive training to help you grow in this position.
As a Program Support Assistant, you will:
The official duty station for this position will be in Albany, New York. Failure to report to duty at this location may be grounds for a disciplinary action, including removal.
Key Requirements:You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
Specialized Experience: For the GS-07 grade level, you must have one year (52 full weeks) of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-06 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience for this position includes:
- Providing customer service on financial-related matters to both external and internal clients; AND
- Monitoring and analyzing data/information within data management applications; AND
- Preparing correspondence, responding to technical inquiries and providing technical program information; AND
- Utilizing standard computer software such as Microsoft Office Word, Excel and Outlook or similar software.
Specialized Experience: For the GS-06 grade level, you must have one year (52 full weeks) of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience for this position includes:
- Preparing correspondence, responding to routine non-technical inquiries and providing routine general program information; AND
- Maintaining filing systems, including receiving, reviewing, logging and processing financial information, documents and reports; AND
- Utilizing standard computer software such as Microsoft Office Word, Excel and Outlook or similar software.
Experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis.
