This position is located on Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR), Command Navy Region Hawaii. The purpose of this position is to manage and direct the Regional Bowling Program and Theater. The Regional Program includes three (3) Bowling Centers and a variety of bowling programs designed to serve a community in excess of 25,000 Active Duty, DoD Civilian, Family Members, and Retirees.

MAJOR DUTIES:
Serves as the Regional Bowling Program Director responsible for the overall business and operational management of three bowling centers*. Plans and develops diversified programs, introducing new or improved concepts of recreation programming management.
Provides guidance to program and facility managers with respect to divisional policy considering such factors as program objectives and fiscal concerns. Determines areas of needs and interest with respect to recreational programs, facilities, and equipment. Participates in developing long and short-range objectives and fiscal concerns.

Continually monitors income/expense factors for the operations to determine revenue trends.Recommends program requirements to meet specified desired results. Recommends operating procedures, policies, rules and regulations, and management directories to achieve objectives at a reasonable cost to patrons.
Oversees 3 Bowling Centers: Directly supervises 2 Bowling Center Managers, 2 Snack Bar Managers, and 35+ various employee positions ranging from NF-1, NF-2, NF-3 along with NA and NS who serve as Rec Aids/Asst., Cooks, FSW, Bar Asst., maintenance and custodial workers. Guides all actions to comply with set standards and deadlines. Approves leave, schedules, completes performance appraisals, and counsels and disciplines subordinates as necessary. Develops position descriptions for staffing requirements.
Plans work for staff, setting priorities, ensuring timely performance of satisfactory quality and quantity of work and assuring work is of acceptable form. Promotes and furthers the EEO Program assuring equal treatment of all subordinates in all areas of work and personnel management, including selections, assignments, training, promotions, details, discipline, awards and recognitions, nominations to boards and committees, overtime assignments, etc., ensuring that all internal policies and procedures within the organization are consistent with EEO policies.
Monitors programs to affect modifications of new activities, existing activities, or eliminates those that are not economically effective to sound programming. Studies conditions, needs and trends affecting requirements. Develops and submits for approval, long and short-range plans to meet command needs for adequate recreational programs, facilities, equipment, and personnel, taking into consideration such factors as age, adequacy, and life expectancy of equipment, facilities, and financial resources.
Procurement of competent entertainment and equipment for all Bowling Programs and facilities. In addition, checks and authenticates all invoices for payment to vendors and contractors.
Prepares activity budget submission to meet objectives. Makes corrective adjustments when variances exist from the projected budget plan. Reviews requirements and determines whether program expenses should be justified, curtailed or eliminated from the budget.
Reviews and ensures internal controls, receipt, safekeeping, deposit, disbursement, and accountability to include accuracy of source data and propriety of expenditures. Establishes necessary fees and charges. Signs purchase requests and timecards.
This position does not have a positive education requirement.
Salary is dependent on experience and/or education.
