The U.S. Attorney's Office, Southern District of Alabama is currently recruiting for an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Civil Division. The Civil Division is responsible for investigating and prosecuting affirmative civil cases for damages due to fraud upon the federal government and civil monetary penalties for violations of federal program regulations and for defending all civil actions filed against the United States, its agencies, officers, and employees in the Southern District of Alabama. The affirmative caseload of the Civil Division includes fraud cases brought under the False Claims Act and other statutes, federal regulatory enforcement actions, and civil forfeiture cases. The defensive caseload of the Civil Division includes tort litigation, employment litigation, immigration litigation, bankruptcy, and the defense of civil rights lawsuits filed against federal officers and employees for alleged constitutional violations.
Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress.

Salary Information: Assistant United States Attorney's pay is administratively determined based, in part, on the number of years of professional attorney experience. The range of basic pay is $77,953 to $170,236 including locality.
