GS-05 Specialized Experience:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-04 level in the Federal service which includes: maintaining office files, serving as primary point of contact for visitors, and utilizing automation applications.
OR
Education:Successfully completed a full 4-year course of study in any field leading to a bachelor's degree, in an accredited college or university. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)
OR
Combination Education and Experience:
Specialized experience, but less than one year; and I have more than one year but less than the required education. I have computed the percentage of the requirements that I meet, and the total is at least 100% (To compute the percentage, divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants may be advanced up to GS-05 without time-in-grade if this position is no more than two grades above the lowest grade the applicant has held within the preceding 52 weeks under his or her latest non-temporary competitive appointment.
GS-06 Specialized Experience:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 level in the Federal service which includes: Initiating personnel requests, maintaining branch office supplies, and generating travel arrangements for branch personnel.
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-05).
GS-07 Specialized Experience:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 level in the Federal service which includes: Collecting budgetary information used for budget planning and tracking, purchasing office supplies, equipment, and services, processing travel orders and vouchers, composing memorandums and correspondence, and generating a variety of personnel actions for all branch personnel.
OR
Education: Successfully completed one full academic year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work of the position, such as public administration, business administration, industrial engineering, industrial management, or other administrative or management fields. (NOTE: You must attach a copy of your transcripts for verification).
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).
You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:
FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
