This is a full-time Term appointment in the excepted service not to exceed 13 months.Term appointments may be extended beyond the initial term. As a term employee you will be eligible for medical insurance, life insurance, retirement dental and vision. You will be eligible to earn annual leave and sick leave.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must (a) hold a bachelor's degree or higher that included or was supplemented by major study in education or in a subject-matter field appropriate to the position, OR (b) possess a combination of education and experience -- courses equivalent to a major in education, or in a subject-matter field appropriate to the position, plus appropriate experience or additional course work that provided knowledge comparable to that normally acquired through the successful completion of the 4-year course of study described above.
SELECTIVE PLACEMENT FACTOR/KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs):
Applicants will be evaluated on the following:
1) Academic Accomplishment (Master's or Ph.D. preferred) in Physical Education or related field.
2) Demonstrated ability to perform and teach or coach a variety of basic swimming and survival swimming skill techniques.
3) Ability to teach at a collegiate level personal fitness course.
4) Demonstrated ability to teach a variety of lifetime physical activity courses.
Only degrees from an accredited college or university recognized by the Department of Education are acceptable to meet positive education requirements or to substitute education for experience.
