This is not a remote position. Department of Veterans Affairs requires that all Senior Executive Service and Senior Executive Service Equivalent employees report to work at a VA-owned or leased facility five days per bi-weekly pay period. Upon selection, the location will be identified to meet this requirement. Confirmed space is identified in the following locations: Salt Lake City, UT; Cincinnati, OH; Durham, NC; Washington, DC; and Atlanta, GA. Additional locations may be considered upon selection.
4-Year 7306 appointment with potential for re-appointment (not guaranteed)
This is a Pay Table 4 Tier 2 positions. Salary range is $145,000 to $295,000.
NOTE: Applicant's education and length of practice (experience) will be considered by a Compensation Panel in determining the salary of the applicant selected. Exceptions to the salary cap must be approved.
Work schedule: Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week

The Deputy Chief Officer (DCO), Specialty Care serves as Deputy to the Chief Officer, Specialty Care Services for all program function oversight to include delivery of services, assessment of services, and outcome analysis relating to Anesthesia, allergy & immunology, critical care, cardiology, dermatology, diabetes and endocrinology, gastroenterology, genomic medicine, hepatitis, HIV, infectious disease, neurology, hospital medicine, pain management, oncology, ophthalmology, optometry, podiatry, molecular medicine, radiation oncology, rheumatology, and sleep medicine.
The DCO provides national leadership to and has advisory and consultative responsibility for these programs and their initiatives. Additional responsibilities include developing short and long term goals consistent with VA and VHA's mission, strategies, and goals.
