The Health System Specialist serves as the VA Bedford Healthcare System Space Planner for all projects within the operating plan, working directly as an advisor to the responsible team, and providing consultative services. Assists in the planning, development, implementation, coordination and evaluation of milestones for each plan. Responsible for obtaining and maintaining the OCAMES and VISN corporate commitment to the management plan. Manages and coordinates the development and execution of capital project space and phasing constraints while working with the Project Managers and Engineering staff to finalize scope, budget and schedule and maintaining the Capital Asset Inventory (CAI) and SCIP for designated programs/projects. Participates in station programming decisions through committee participation and direct discussions with the Strategic Planner affecting long and short-range courses of action for assigned projects.

Receiving Service Credit or Earning Annual (Vacation) Leave: Federal Employees earn annual leave at a rate (4, 6 or 8 hours per pay period) which is based on the number of years they have served as a Federal employee. This credited service can be used in determining the rate at which they earn annual leave. Such credit must be requested and approved prior to the appointment date and is not guaranteed.
