U.S. Citizens and Non-U.S. Nationals who have resided in the U.S. or U.S. Territory for three (3) or more continuous years immediately preceding the start of Federal affiliation currently residing within the local commuting area of Fort Gregg-Adams.
Successful completion of a 4 year college or university degree with a major course of study or substantial course work which directly relates to a CYS field: early childhood, elementary, secondary, special education, child and youth development, psychology, youth program administration or a closely related field.
Or
A combination of education and experience. Successful completion of at least 24 semester hours in a major course of study in education or a field appropriate to education, plus appropriate work experience that provided knowledge skills and abilities directly related to the duties described. Note: general Psychology/Sociology course work is not qualifying.
In addition to the requirements mentioned above candidates must possess the following:
1. Demonstrated twelve (12) months' work experience in at least two (2) CYS program types (FCC, SAS, etc.) that included management of a child or youth program. The work experience must have been equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade level.
2. Knowledge of management analysis, personnel development, and APF and NAF funding and oversight relationship to CYS programs.
3. Ability to plan and organize work, analyze problems to identify significant factors, gather pertinent data and recognize solutions.
4. Comprehensive oral and communications skills and analytical writing skills, and the ability to present ideas and proposals to a variety of audiences.
Proof of education is required at the time of application. Note: Education must be directly related to the position to be filled. General Education courses do not count toward the credit total.
