This vacancy announcement is open to the public. Relocation expenses will not be provided unless specifically authorized by the Director of the AO.
The AO is seeking an exceptional leader to serve as the Legislative Affairs Officer in the Office of Legislative Affairs (OLA). The OLA is responsible for working with the Judicial Conference of the United States and its committees to develop Judicial Conference positions on legislative issues; promoting legislative initiatives approved by the Judicial Conference; identifying and monitoring congressional activity that could impact the Judiciary; and developing and coordinating responses to all policy or legislative inquiries from Congress. The incumbent of this position serves as the subject matter expert on all matters relating to congressional initiatives in the Judiciary. The incumbent will report to the Deputy Director.
The duties of the Legislative Affairs Officer include, but are not limited to:
Applicants must possess a law degree (J.D.) from a law school accredited by the American Bar Association (ABA). Qualifying education must have been obtained from an accredited college or university recognized by the Department of Education.
