Duties
As an IT Specialist (SYSADMIN/DATAMGT), you will:
- Perform work that involves the planning, development, implementation, and administration of systems for the acquisition, storage, and retrieval of data.
- Apply and adapt new and improved approaches to the design, development, and implementation of data mining, data warehousing, and related data storage and retrieval systems.
- Provide guidance for the application of data modeling practices to the development of data management applications.
- Perform work that involves planning and coordinating the installation, testing, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of hardware and software systems.
- Plan and conduct simulations to determine capacity requirements and recommend hardware/software replacements or upgrades to meet current and future requirements.
- Develop and implement migration strategies. Plan for continuity of operations during the deployment of new server technology.

Qualifications
BASIC REQUIREMENT: Experience must be IT related; the experience may be demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training (for example, IT certification), as appropriate.

Specialized experience for this position is defined as: Experience in 1) analyzing, developing, and implementing Microsoft SQL Database systems; 2) testing, troubleshooting, and maintaining Server operating systems, hardware and software systems to support Microsoft SQL Relational Databases; 3) experience working with Windows PowerShell Scripting or other scripting languages to manage instances of the Database Engine and the objects in the instances; and 4) performing a variety of work involving planning, development, implementation, and administration of Server operating systems for the acquisition, storage, and retrieval of data.
