As a Supervisory Public Affairs Specialist, you will perform the following duties:

Develop, recommend, implement and evaluate policy for Homeland Security Investigation (HSI) communications that directly impact media relations and strategic communications activities;
Supervise a group of subordinate supervisors with employees performing work at the GS-14 level and provide administrative and technical supervision necessary for accomplishing the work of the unit;
Participate and lead in high-level policy making meetings and conferences and serve as an advisor on stakeholder or public reactions to new policy initiatives; and
Advise on potential media and public reaction to proposed policies and programs.

You qualify for GS-15 if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience at the GS-14 grade or equivalent performing duties such as:

Overseeing and developing policies and procedures which pertain to a public affairs communications programs and activities which have national and international implications;
Performing administrative and human resources management functions relative to staff supervised and establishing guidelines and performance expectations for staff members;
Evaluating and identifying information that will further an Agency's mission and goals;
Managing a public relations program involving issues that are controversial or of significant public or congressional interest, and
Providing consultation to managers on developing public affairs activities and materials for internal and external use.
