The major duties of the Civil Engineer include, but are not limited to, the following:

A Recruitment Incentive May Be Authorized for a newly selected employee when appointed to a permanent, temporary, or term position. A Federal employee who is transferring to the National Park Service from another component, bureau or Federal agency and who does not meet the conditions under 5 CFR 575.102 is not eligible for a recruitment incentive.
A Relocation Incentive May Be Authorized for a Federal employee when the employee must move, as directed by the National Park Service (NPS) either through a management directed reassignment or selection for employment, to a different location at least 50 miles away from the one where his/her position of record held at time of selection is currently located, due to a need of the NPS. A relocation incentive is not the same as a Permanent Change of Station (PCS) move and, as such, may be granted in conjunction with one another.
Yosemite National Park: Two positions will be filled as career seasonals. Pay status will be from approximately mid-January through December. Non pay status will be from end of December through mid-January for one pay period.
Sequoia National Park: One position will be filled as permaent and one as a career seasonal. Pay status will be from approximately January through December. Non pay status will be from late-December through beginning of January for one pay period.
Career-Seasonal appointments are permanent positions and include the same benefits as Career appointments but don't work on a year-round basis. The position will be in non-pay status for one pay period the first service year. This may change for future service years depending on workload and budget; however, you will be notified by the supervisor in advance of any upcoming change to the non-pay period for the following year.
Hawaii Volcanoes and Crater Lake National Park are permanent positions.
