To qualify, applicants must meet the Basic Requirements and the minimum qualifications to qualify for each grade they wish to be considered for.
Basic Requirement:
A) Degree in economics, that included at least 21 semester hours in economics and 3 semester hours in statistics, accounting or calculus.
OR
B) A combination of education and experience - courses equivalent to a major in economics, as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education.
In addition to meeting the Basic Requirement above, applicants must also meet the minimum qualifications to be considered:
CG-14, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the CG-13 grade level or above in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as:
Experience serving as an economist specialist responsible for conducting research on, and analysis of, complex economic, banking and consumer financial issues.
CG-15, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the CG-14 grade level or above in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as:
Experience serving as a key economic advisor, developing policy recommendations, and conducting, publishing and presenting economic research and analysis at the highest level on complex economic issues.

Salary reflects a pay cap for this position of $252,500.
