This position is designated as an IAT Level II position. Selectee will operate in accordance with DoD 8570.1-m and must have COMPTIA Security+ certification. Duties include, but are not limited to: Operates and maintains information processing systems and associated specific software within non-appropriated fund activities and assists management to determine data accumulation, data processing techniques, systems acquisition and updating computer systems. Planning and delivery of technical support services, including troubleshooting, installation, removals, moves, systems knowledge and assistance in response to customer requirements. Responsible for 100% inventory of data systems assets at squadron facilities as well as stored systems awaiting disposition of facilities, assures that property is properly accounted for at all times. Provides recommendation in determining the number of required programs and sub-routines for computer user requirements when new local programming is applied and or required. Analyzes computer hardware, software and diagnoses information systems as well as computer program deficiencies. Analyzes problems in database design and determines alternative solutions. Initiates corrective action to recover/restore data and return systems to normal operation. Applies knowledge in conjunction with overall system design and user requirements to formulate design of information systems with respect to data flow, program logic, files structure, and other processes associated with automatic real time systems logic. Analyzes existing information systems and programs and provides updates where necessary to assure fully system life cycle. Makes recommendations for replacements, upgrades, etc., of systems as well as internal LAN and WAN networks to the systems division manager as well as the facility manager. Analyzes data collection techniques and requirements to aid in determining required hardware and software in terms of overall cost effectiveness and efficiency. Reviews associated documentation of computer activity, as well as completed projects to ensure completeness and system accuracy, monitoring a systems operation and performance. Responsible for DSN analog/VoIP and commercial telephone and data processing/ISP lines at assigned facilities. Performs other duties directly supporting Force Support Squadron specialized systems and functional elements as assigned. Support includes at a minimum, installing specific user accounts, setting user rights, installing system patches, software upgrades and troubleshooting/resolving specific program malfunctions. May carry Government issued cell phone to include Operates a NAF vehicle when conducting the duties of this position. Performs other related duties as assigned.
