THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION
The National Guard is the oldest component of the Armed Forces of the United States. Since the earliest American colonial days, citizens have joined together for collective defense. We have a proud tradition of coming to the aid of our friends and neighbors in times of serious emergencies. Join our National Guard team and serve your nation, your states and your community!
FL National Guard employees indirectly report to the governor through the state Adjutant General and have the possibility to be utilized for emergency relief support during natural disasters such as floods, hurricanes, and forest fires, etc. Although not every position requires routine emergency support, all positions are subject to recall around the clock operations, which may require irregular work hours, work at locations other than the official duty station, and may include duties other than those specified in the employee's official position description. Travel requirements in support of these operations may be with little advance notice, and may require employees to briefly relocate to work stations with physically austere and operationally challenging conditions.
