Works independently performing multiple, varying and complex activates. Broad policies and objectives provider general guidance but require the innovation for developing new or modified procedures and approaches taking into consideration FAA policies, government-wide regulations, and industry standards. Acts as a liaison to Operations Support (AJW-1), Next Gen, and PMO in defining Enterprise needs/requirements to acquisition programs. Works directly with AJW-1 and PMO from development through implementation of new/ modified systems/services to insure operational readiness prior to integration into the NAS. Acts as an Enterprise expert in support of systems/services across the NASEO Directorate. Providers 24/7 operational support for NAS systems through monitoring, and overseeing critical services. Providers emergency technical assistance to return network communications programs and systems to operational mode. Monitors, analyzes, and troubleshoots telecommunication, computer, infrastructure and NAS OP-IP network problems within a NAS operations center. Responsible for systems administration and security on operational systems/services. Managers LAWN/WAN computer networks and communications systems. Oversees administration of LAN/WAN infrastructure and the resources on which it relies. Responsible for installing LAWN/WAN connectivity to support critical NAS Operations. Designs, configures, modifies, and maintains hardware such as hubs, routers, switches, cabling, servers, backup systems, interface cards, modems, etc., and software such as, operating systems, utility systems, and security systems, etc., in order to maintain optimal performance levels. Analyzes and tracks significant problems. monitors performance and performs upgrades and/or fixes to hardware and software as required. Monitors LAN/WAN data traffic to ensure that all data packets are being delivered to correct destinations. Maintains documentation regarding network configurations, operating procedures, and service records relating to network hardware and software. Monitors, troubleshoots, and coordinates service outages in a service Oriented Architecture (SOA) environment through the use of web services technologies. Maintains updated knowledge or networking protocols, experience in routed and frame relay network environments, virtual hosted environments, and experience with network management utilities. Prepares informational and technical reports and presents briefings to include issues, mitigation strategies, and recommendations. Remains current on-job specific knowledge and trends through training courses, workshops, seminars, and professional associations/publications. Obtains and maintains necessary certifications. Direct impact on the NAS. Requires Secret Security clearance.
