Serves as a consultant and instructor on a variety of WFL topics and issues (see programs below). Provides informative and tangible advice, assistance, and instruction to address customer concerns, needs and requirements associated with Navy-life (deployment/separation; frequent relocation, transitioning from military to civilian life, etc.).
Gathers data, compiles statistics, reports progress and makes recommendations to the supervisor on program planning, agency coordination and follow-up procedures for use at installation, regional and DoD levels. Evaluates, interprets and acts upon data received through customer interviews, general research provided by other agencies/academia, and community based resources. Implements, monitors, documents and tracks service provisions to evaluate and ensure client satisfaction and effectiveness. Disseminates and collects customer evaluation feedback in accordance with the FFSC Quality Assurance Plan. Provides timely inputting of FFSMIS (or equivalent data collection program), and other required workload data for all services provided. Ensures appropriate referrals and follow-up for services requested and documents contacts and results.Works independently and/or with other FFSC staff to provide guidance and training to deliver course curricula and prepare accompanying resource materials. Plans, coordinates, and schedules FFSC workshops, programs, and GMTs. Regularly reviews all new and existing programming IAW with Region and CNIC policies and recommends changes to supervisor. Organizes and implements initiatives such as job fairs and executive career study groups that invite prospective employers to the installation. Provides backup support to all other WFL Specialists, and is cross-trained to provide support in other WFL program areas not specifically assigned to this incumbent.
Responsible for marketing program workshops, events, and activities verbally and in writing via AFN, base newspaper, social media IAW the center's outreach and marketing plan in partnership with the center's administrator responsible for center marketing. Works with N9 functional areas by facilitating joint program events and presentations in N9 recreation, lodging, housing, barracks and other facilities. Collaborates with civilian and military professional resources to gather information and stay abreast of current issues and events. Responsible for the coordination and completion of special project activities including but not limited to CNIC monthly themed events and activities. Serves on various committees and councils to optimize viewpoints related to military life. May serve as command representative for the command representative program and makes contacts with commands in accordance with guidelines established by the FFSC Director.Facilitates and conducts program components related to the separating of military members and/or family members following a full or partial military

career. This includes coordinating presence of Department of Labor, Department of Veterans Affairs, Small Business Administration who conduct a variety of training in support of the Veterans Opportunity to Work Act and other legislation, Transition Assistance programs and various other Navy-related initiatives designed to prepare Service Members for success in civilian life. Provides and coordinates access to an array of workshops, programs, services, and support to meet the identified needs of separating service members and their families when applicable on various topics to include but not limited to relocation assistance; personal financial management; education counseling and guidance to include choosing a degree program, college intuition, funding options as well as higher education admissions assistance; employment opportunities and support, including career coaching and planning, resume writing, interview preparedness, and job search strategies; identifying transition benefits for which they may be eligible; military and civilian social service resources; and non-medical individual and family counseling.
Relocation Services: Establishes, develops, implements, monitors and coordinates WFL services and activities to include information and referral (I&R) services. Refers customers, as appropriate, for specialized assistance. Compiles and updates for inclusion in the welcome packet, information on community characteristics and services, spouse employment opportunities, special education, housing, medical facilities, utilities, taxes, local laws, and other unique information related to the particular location. Develops newcomer orientation providing extensive information on installations and civilian community resources and services. Refers customers who encounter stress of cultural adaptation and disruption of social and family ties. Identifies and addresses the individual adjustment needs providing counseling referrals when appropriate.
Bachelor's degree or higher: behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position (such as a business-related field).
OR
Combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
OR
Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
