The United States Attorney's Office for the Northern District of Florida is seeking applications from experienced attorneys who have superb research and writing skills as well as a civil law background to fill an Assistant United States Attorney (AUSA) vacancy in the Civil Division.
This position offers a dynamic civil practice with a challenging mix of cases and represents a great opportunity for an attorney seeking federal litigation experience. Among other responsibilities, the successful candidate will handle defensive litigation in the areas of employment discrimination, torts, and other matters where we defend the interests of the United States. The successful candidate also may be called on to handle affirmative civil litigation where the United States is a plaintiff when fraud has been committed against the United States government. The defensive and affirmative dockets present an array of challenging cases that yields significant trial experience, including jury trials. Salary Information: Assistant United States Attorney's pay is administratively determined based, in part, on the number of years of professional attorney experience. The range of basic pay is $77,9852.00 to $189,770.00 which includes 16.82% locality pay.
