The Chief of Media Relations will be a part of the Director of Legislative and Public Affairs' team to disseminate its analysis as clearly and accurately as possible and to provide the Congress with objective, nonpartisan analysis. Key responsibilities will include:
- Proactively engaging with media outlets and responding to external inquiries about CBO analyses in coordination with CBO staff;
- Serving as CBO's spokesperson for communicating the agency's analytic products, which are often complex, to various media outlets;
- Working with senior leaders to develop CBO's communications and social media strategies;
- Preparing CBO's Director and other managers for periodic presentations to various groups and occasional press conferences, radio and TV interviews, and other public-facing events;
- Working with CBO's website team to manage the agency's digital content; and
- Facilitating interactions with foreign and domestic delegations interested in learning about CBO's activities.
