SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE to qualify at the GS-11 level: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Interpreting environmental and cultural resource laws, executive orders, regulations, and policies, including the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA); 2) Supporting water resources studies with emphasis on flood damage reduction, navigation, and environmental/ecosystem restoration; 3) Assist in writing technical reports i.e. environmental assessments, impact statements, land use plans, compliance reports, effect determinations, mitigation plans, and/or memoranda of agreement; 4) Providing basic technical guidance to interdisciplinary teams to address, avoid, or minimize impacts to environmental and cultural resources; 5) Monitoring work schedules for all tasks, ensuring that all timelines and objectives are met; 6) Fostering open communication amongst stakeholders and the public.This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).

Education: Ph.D. or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
