This position is located at Joint Force Headquarters-State Public Affairs Office in Phoenix, Arizona. The primary purpose of the position is to collect, assemble, prepare and disseminate information concerning the various activities of the state's NG.

Compatible Military Assignments:
Army Enlisted: Must have or be able to obtain a 46 Series MOS
Army Officer: Must have or be able to obtain a 46 Series Functional Area

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: 1 year equivalent to at least GS-7 experience, education, or training involving knowledge of writing, communication principles, methods and techniques that relate to the public affairs of an agency. Experience in applying and adapting knowledge of strictly controlled situations of an agency. Experience writing articles on routine events of non-controversial subjects. Experience responding timely and appropriately to requests for information concerning agency programs and services. Experience participating in meetings with specialized groups to listen to and understand feedback on agency programs that are of particular interest to public.
You must provide transcripts or other documentation to support your Educational claims. To receive credit for Education, you must provide documentation of proof that you meet the Education requirements for this position.

Your qualifications will be evaluated on the following competencies (knowledge, skills, abilities and other characteristics):
1. Knowledge and skill sufficient to assist in the planning, writing and editing of feature news and technical articles for release to interested internal or external audiences.
2. Knowledge of target audience lifestyles, interests and activities sufficient to identify the most effective methods by which data on informational campaign effectiveness can be obtained for evaluation.
3. Knowledge of and skill in applying communication campaign development methods and practices to advise program managers on the most effective approaches to message formatting and delivery to a specific or general audience
4. Knowledge of the principals and methods of mass communication and skill in applying or adapting these principals and methods to recurring assignments.
5. Knowledge of and skill in applying public speaking skills to engagements where NG programs, activities, objectives and policies are discussed and the audience's reaction gauged.
